This week we are going to start swimming in the pool and I hope we will get class swims after lunch as the teachers are trying to sort times for class swims.

On Sunday the 26th of October we had our Ngatimoti Festival.
I helped Hobbit set up the music truck on Saturday before the Festival. I helped set up the stage by placing the flooring. I was not good with the screw driver but I tried.
I got up early on Sunday and came down to the Festival. We walked for ages because we had to park a long way away. Mum had to work at the Gate so mum gave me some money to spend at the Festival while she was working. I got lots of cool things. I then had to work on the Plant Stall. We had been working hard in class to grow and look after the plants to sell.
I had to use a calculator to help work out the right amount to charge and change to give back. I also worked on the cow pat bing stand, which is where people buy a square and if the cow poops in that square then they win a prize.
My favourite thing was dancing at the Festival.

Pet Day
Last Friday was Pet Day at school.
My sister and I brought two rabbits to school.
Our rabbits are called Bun Bun and Cinnamon.
They are brown rabbits and they eat juicy grass and they also like scraps, especially carrots.
They don't have thick hair so we don’t have to brush them but they do shed hair everywhere.
Bun Bun and Cinnamon live in a large rabbit hutch. They get all their exercise in the hutch. Sometimes we get them out and play with them. They like lots of cuddles. They can be scratchy.
Bun Bun and Cinnamon both won prizes at the Pet Day.

Ngatimoti Two won and got gifted with a mini chocolate bar with a juicy too.
At least Ngatimoti One got a juicy before Ngatimoti Two, so it was fair!
BY AMELIAWe had Daniel from Sport Tasman come in on Monday 28th to do basketball skills like dribbling, shooting & passing.
It was really fun, because we learnt to do lots of Basketball skills and drills.

BLOG UPDATE
Last week was pretty good, but after the floods there weren't many people at school. To start the day with a milo and popcorn was a pretty good start to the term.
When St Joseph’s School came and made a sausage sizzle that was also pretty good. On Friday we had Pie Day Friday where everyone got a free pie. Wahoo!

This week we are having a hāngi. I am so excited and can't wait. A hāngi is a big pit in the earth which the Māori use to cook their food, if you didn't know.

We had Phoebe as a teacher for three days last week. It was super fun because the only subject that we did was math. We got to do fun games and we also got to do a writing activity called Plan My Walk, which is where we pick a walk and write about it. It was the best and everyone loved it.

In these holidays, whatever it's called, I had to go with Mum to work and I met a boy called Niwa. I also went to get a new Squishmallow for Easter. I got three of them. I also went to Flip Out with Eva. We saw one of our school friends from Room five at Flip Out.
I went to a swimming place in Richmond where there was a wave pool, and then we went to Kmart.
I am excited for this term, because we are going to Bark Bay and we are going tomorrow. We have to be at school early to leave by 8am.

Last week we got a science kit called Who dunnit? We learned how to be forensic detectives by using evidence from fingerprints, handwriting, fabric and powder samples to figure out who committed the crime. The last day of the Who dunnit? kit we tried to solve a crime and we all got it right!

For our class we biked, ran and swam.
For our house group we did a biker combo, three legged race and piggy back in the pool.
It was really tricky, but we still did it! Some people did the whole thing and some people did parts in teams. It was very fun. Every one enjoyed it. Green house won the Tryathlon!
