Inter Schools Cross Country
This week on Friday (1st June) the Inter Schools cross country is taking place on rabbit island. The lucky few who got through to this event will be very excited. They will be competing against other schools in the Tasman District.
The race is around 2 kilometres long, and you go up hills of sand. The top ten will go through to the Nelson one, which as it sounds is all the best runners in the Nelson area.

This week we did some awesome science with teabags and made them float.
We lit them and they got smaller and smaller and smaller until they floated in the air.
They looked like tiny little sparks flying in the air.

Anzac biscuits

Anzac Biscuits
A week after Anzac day, our class made Anzac biscuits and we were in groups.
We had to share ingredients and I was in a group with Cayla, Tawn, Chris, Riley, Louie, Ruby, Willow and some other people.
The ingredients that we used were:

             golden syrup:
        rolled oats
          white sugar
             baking soda
           hot water
        butter

         What we did:
1. We put butter,Golden syrup and white sugar into a pot and then we put it on a stove. We  stirred it until it was a liquid
2.Once we had made the liquid we put rolled oats in bowl and mixed it with sugar, hot water, baking soda we started to shape our biscuits and then we put the liquid in the mixture. Then we put them in the oven and we let cook for 15 minutes and then we had a delicious treat.

Doctors warn about dangers of fortnite

Every few years a new video game is released, like pokemon go, but now it’s fortnite.

This game has been downloaded more than 4 million times since it’s launch, and the reason why it's dangerous is because it is an addiction for a lot of people.

The video game has 100 pits against over players all over the whole entire world in a frantic game of survival.

No matter the skill level, you will get hooked really fast.
Fortnite is really addictive, because its a free play game. also it doesn’t matter if you play it for 1 hour or a 100 hours you will get hooked, you will also get the same gaming experience over and over again, this was proven by James Jarvis.

Fantail Coming in

On the 2nd of May in the afternoon, a little boy fantail came in. It was singing a sweet song, everyone liked it. It was happy and friendly and  it stayed in the class for about half an hour. When it left, most people said "Bye!" but it came back the day after.

Inspire Me!

NP: Inspire Me

I am doing Inspire Me on Heather from Dragons: Race to the Edge. She isn’t a real person, but her morals, personality and characteristics are inspiring - at least to me.
Heather inspires me because she is a survivalist;when the going gets tough, she doesn’t give up and she is always stopping and looking at problems creatively - she’s really something of a R.I.VE.R. student!
Heather has black hair in a braid to her elbow, bright green eyes and one brother, Dagur. She originates from Beserker Island where she lives with her brother.
She also has an amazing bond with her Razorwhip Windshear, who willingly gave her scales for Heather’s armour.
Heather has awesome dragonriding and fighting skills and always keeps the team laughing.
Thanks also to Cressida Cowell and DreamWorks who created Heather and the rest of the Dragons: Race to the Edge cast. They’re super-creative, outside-the-triangle thinkers who have enabled the enjoyment of thousands of viewers all over the globe. Thanks HEAPS to both.
