Deer Spotted Swimming in Marlborough Sounds

Deer Spotted Swimming in Marlborough Sounds

A deer has been spotted doing a 400 metre swim across the Marlborough Sounds in the weekend.

Colin Aitchison was out on a friends boat in the Queen Charlotte Sound when they spotted a stag of Arapawa Island.

“We thought it was a log at first, but obviously we got a bit closer and realised that it was moving quite fast... and then we saw that it was a stag, a first for us.”

Mr Aitchison says that it swam 400 metres before jumping back onto land and disappearing into the bush.

My opinion is that it is pretty weird how a deer would swim across the sound instead of like, going around and it swam quite far.

Prince Charles Made ‘High Chief’ of Vanuatu

Prince Charles Made ‘High Chief’ of Vanuatu
Prince Charles has been made high chief of Vanuatu during a short visit.
The Prince of Wales said his new title is a ‘great honour’,and is, I think, quite happy.
As part of the ceremony, he took a sip from a cup of special kava, which was last drunk when his father was there.
He is only an honorary high chief.
Prince Philip is worshipped as a god by one particular Vanuatu tribe.
Prince Charles has been named ‘Mal Menaringmanu’.
After a day in Vanuatu, he said:
“Hello, everybody. I’m truly touched by the generous welcome shown to me today and by the very great honour you have bestowed on me in granting me the chiefly title.” he added, “Vanuatu, you are number one!”
