Prince Charles Made ‘High Chief’ of Vanuatu Prince Charles has been made high chief of Vanuatu during a short visit. The Prince of Wales said his new title is a ‘great honour’,and is, I think, quite happy. As part of the ceremony, he took a sip from a cup of special kava, which was last drunk when his father was there. He is only an honorary high chief. Prince Philip is worshipped as a god by one particular Vanuatu tribe. Prince Charles has been named ‘Mal Menaringmanu’. After a day in Vanuatu, he said: “Hello, everybody. I’m truly touched by the generous welcome shown to me today and by the very great honour you have bestowed on me in granting me the chiefly title.” he added, “Vanuatu, you are number one!” By Ada.
