W5: Pages 160-197 (Chapter 30-37)
TASKS - Choose from the following...
1. Draw a picture of a birth of a star (Like on Albert's wall). OR draw a picture of a friendly whale (Killer Whale). OR draw a ghost in a blizzard.
2. Assign each chess piece to different characters in the story. Who do you think should be the KING? QUEEN?....Explain why you choose each one.
3. Shay is a bully to Ally and her friends. Design an anti-bully slogan or message and display it in your school. You could make a video, poster or advert.
4. Think in pictures - Draw a comic strip showing the main events of the story so far.
5. RESEARCH - Research how to play Chess. Make a video explaining how to play. If you get time play Chess against someone in your class.
6. HANDS-ON - Use the word IM POSSIBLE with the IM separated like in the story and create it using your touch sense. I wonder what you can use to make it?
7. WRITING - Pretend to be Ally and write about something in Fish in a Tree using your 5 senses (Sight, Hearing, Taste, Smell, Touch). What can you write about?
8. VOCABULARY - Find the meanings of the following words: Diagonally, incorporate, restoration, logically, sacrificed and opponents.
