Leighton's Whenua Iti Holiday

 Whenua Iti Holiday Programme

Case Study: Whenua Iti Outdoors | Avoca Web Design Nelson

Our favourite thing at Whenua Iti on Monday, was the flying kiwi.

On Tuesday we worked with clay and we made tiles to put on the wall at Whenua Iti. We made one to take home and made animals too. Then we had a challenge to make a dragon mixed with a flower and turtle. We had a ton of fun.Trekking with Whenua Iti - International Gap Year Programs | Carpe Diem Education

On Wednesday

we went for a walk down the Abel Tasman coastal track to the toilet spot. But on the way we went down to the beaches. When we went to one beach. We had to climb across slippery rocks without falling in the water… But I fell into the water and some other people went with me and at the beach we saw jellyfish.Outcomes & Activities | Whenua Iti Outdoors

On Thursday

we went abseiling off a cliff at the beach. We had a nice person who helped us and told us how to abseil and how to use the rope. I didn't abseil, because I was scared. It was cool to watch people go down. Then I went to play down on the beach with my new friends where we splashed in the water. We saw a huge jellyfish in the water, but sadly it died. On the big rocks we saw starfish then someone saw a Blue penguin in a cave. Then we went back.

On Friday

We went for a walk and we went to look at a river.

Then we went down to the rocks. Some people like me drank fresh water and other people explored the rocks. We walked back to the car. Next we went to Rabbit Island and the beach. I had a swim in my togs. The water was very shallow. Next we went back to Whenua Iti and all of the kids and I got a certificate and a pin in front of my and their parents.
