On Sunday we had our school festival.

Room 4 was working on Cow Pat Bingo and Plant Stall.

Cow Pat Bingo earnt $300 and the plant stall made around $5,700.

The whole festival made around $55,000.

On Sunday we are going to have the annual,  drumroll please……………………….     Ngatimoti  Festival!                    There will be:

A plant stall

A Kidzone 

Local honey and food stalls

Bands and music

Arts and crafts

Animal tent 

Silent auction 

Cafe 

  And  MUCH.], much  more!   

IT  IS SO MUCH FUN,  THOUGH PLEASE  REMEMBER: USE YOUR MANNERS , DON'T SWEAR  AND BE CALM AS YOU CAN

Pet Day

 On Tuesday, it was pet day. Nearly everyone brought their pets to show. 

There were cats, dogs, lambs, horses, chickens and ducks.

Everyone got to show their pets off with their own special tricks. T

here were all kinds of awards and certificates. At the end we all brought our pets home to have a rest.

Yesterday the year 6s went to Motec. We got split into three groups. One group made picture frames, one made pouches and one made lip balm and wax wrap.

 M.J., my sister, came to school and taught Kaisami,Grace, Bella and I netball. It was really fun to do. 

Grace's Mum Kathryn texted Bella and I, so we know if it's on. 

M.J.  got 40 credits for helping us with netball. We played so many games. Thanks M.J.

CLUED UP KIDS

                     We learned about safety at Clued Up Kids.

They showed some worms that come from inside dogs. That’s why you have to wash your hands!

You can only ride a quad bike if you're 16 years old.

In fire safety you need to duck down low and get out.

Rainbow Ski Trip

  Room 4 Ski Trip.

I was so excited to ski, because I have never skied before.

It was a bit scary going up the road in the shuttle.

I was so tired because I had to get up at 5:45am, and be at school at 6:45am.

When I got on my gear, I was going to go on the beginners’ slope first, because, like I said before, I have never skied before.

After the lessons, I was looking for an instructor to see if I could go on the pomma slope.

After maybe ten goes trying to get it right, I got it!

I went half way up the pomma slope for the first time going on it.

I got higher and higher till I was at the top of the pomma slope.

Man, I love skiing so much!!!

The pomma was scary at first but after a few times doing the pizza wedge, it became the thing I was going to do for the rest of the day!

I did spend most of the time going down the learner’s slope, but the thing is that I was so good for my first time skiing.

I love skiing so much that I want to go skiing every day now and also school seems slow now, because it was just so fun to ski.

It was a bit sad that I had to leave, but I could go there another day with my family.

We had to earn a green band to go on the Pomma slope.
To get up to Rainbow, we had to go up in a shuttle bus.
Most kids in the class hadn't been
Skiing before.

Matariki Felt Stars

    Davina showed us how to make felt stars.When we made the stars, it was satisfying when they crunched. When we made it, we brought wool and a needle to do it .     by Orianna

Matariki Games

A few weeks ago the year 5-7’s went to the Matariki games.

There were all kinds of Māori themed sports. 

They split us into teams and we versed the other school’s 

teams. 

There was a break area and lots of games set up.

 The teachers and adults helped with all the teams

and everyone had lots of fun.
