Deer Spotted Swimming in Marlborough Sounds

A deer has been spotted doing a 400 metre swim across the Marlborough Sounds in the weekend.

Colin Aitchison was out on a friends boat in the Queen Charlotte Sound when they spotted a stag of Arapawa Island.

“We thought it was a log at first, but obviously we got a bit closer and realised that it was moving quite fast... and then we saw that it was a stag, a first for us.”

Mr Aitchison says that it swam 400 metres before jumping back onto land and disappearing into the bush.

My opinion is that it is pretty weird how a deer would swim across the sound instead of like, going around and it swam quite far.

Prince Philip is worshipped as a god by one particular Vanuatu tribe. Prince Charles has been named ‘Mal Menaringmanu’. After a day in Vanuatu, he said: “Hello, everybody.           Cyclone Gita  Hits Us!

     Last week Cyclone Gita hit us hard. There were a number of slips causing lots of roads to be closed.

 There was lots of bad damage on the West Bank, Woodstock,  Ruby Bay and lots of people could've died,

Cyclone Gita happened on Tuesday and  25 people were away that day.  There was only 7 people in our class.

Athletics Day

Athletics Day

Last Tuesday Indigo and Room Three, went to athletics day.  They went to Lower Moutere school and lots of different schools like Parklands, Upper Moutere, Brookland school also went there. Other schools also got set up in groups of age 8, 9  and 10 year olds like ours.
