Chapter Chat Fish in a Tree Week 2



CC17 FISH IN A TREE - Y5/6, W2: Tasks & Questions
W2: Pages 39-81 (Chapter 8-14)
TASKS - Choose from the following...
1. Draw a picture of Mr Daniels, OR draw a picture of Ally's penny, Or draw Ally's black cube, OR Albert in his cut off sneakers OR draw Ally's mind movie about the insect on a train.
2. Make a list of 10 impossible things for Ally's sketch book. Pick one of them and draw or create it.
3. A Bag full of nothing: Everyone in the class brings in something that represents them and talks to the class about it. Or complete the mystery box challenge that Mr Daniels made up.
4. MATHS - Pretend you are Mr Daniels and you are running the BUS DRIVER activity. Write some questions for everyone to try and answer.
5. RESEARCH - Research about the water cycle. Draw a picture, or make a movie to explain how it works.
6. HANDS-ON - Make Albert's Jar of clear liquid (Hydrogen and oxygen molecules) Or make some cupcakes with hidden messages in them. Or make a friendship bracelet.
7. WRITING - Pretend you are Ally and write a diary entry about your first few days in Mr Daniels class.
8. VOCABULARY - Find the meanings of the following words: Constructive, Delirious, infinite, optimist, nutritional and injustice.

10. MINECRAFT - Make a giant mystery box with something mysterious inside it.

8. Why were Ally and Keisha the only two girls in the holiday concert that did not have flowers? What does this show about Ally? Explain
9. Why does Mr. Daniels high five Ally? How do you think Ally felt at that moment? Why?
10. Are you enjoying the story? What do you think is going to happen next?
